Chihiro Gompei works with various media including painting, sculpture, and video investigating the self-representation and othering in visual culture. Going back and forth between abstract and figurative, she bonds different times, spaces, and narratives, exploring her relation to our times.

She received her master’s degree in Mixed Media Textiles from the Royal College of Art in 2016. Lives and works in Tokyo.
